Marchesi di Montecristi® produces all the Panamas from organically-grown Carludovica Palmata cultivated on a community-owned plantation which encourages biodiversity of plants and animals within a 5600 hectare protected area.

This particular straw is recognised worldwide for its high quality and beauty and can be cropped once a month for 100 years! Making this material one of the most sustainable on our planet.

In Ecuador, all the straw that is trimmed from our products is used to create compost which is used to grow vegetables in the association's garden which grows vegetables to feed the community.

Our Panama Hats and handbags are 100% biodegradable and their accessories are easily recyclable.
